Galvanize Your Mind for ‘The Shift’

Tuesday, January 19th, 2010

This video is about a movie being made from a movement. There’s some interesting footage of people in action at a grass roots level. I have long wanted to be the kind of person who makes a difference but it seems I was always getting in my own way.

I didn’t always know that’s what I was doing but as I look back on the past with the knowledge and experience I have now, I know…”It was all me, every bit of it me.”

I proclaim that 2010 is going to be an exception to the rule. If there’s a shift going on (and I do believe there is) I want to be a part of it.

I have three goodies for you and each one will contribute to galvanizing your mind and preparing you get out of your own way and take action on your dreams and desires:

1) a free hypnosis MP3 titled Create the Life You Want at my iCreateHabits.com blog

2. Songs to Galvanize Your Mind list available here.

3. The Sheri and Erin Show on Blog Talk Radio.

Each of these goodies will give your mind what it needs to live free from fear so you can take part in ‘The Shift’ if you’re ready.

It doesn’t have a theme per se but it is quirky and crazy and it can probably be added to the list of “Things that make you go hmmm.”

Lyrics to Since Yesterday by Strawberry Switchblade:

Just close your eyes and then remember
The thoughts you’ve locked away
When tomorrow comes you’ll wish
You had today

And as we sit here alone
Looking for a reason to go on
It’s so clear that all we have now
Are our thoughts of yesterday

If you’re still there when it’s all over
I’m scared I’ll have to say
That a part of you has gone
Since yesterday

And as we sit here alone
Looking for a reason to go on
It’s so clear that all we have now
Are our thoughts of yesterday

La La La La…

Well, maybe this could be the ending
with nothing left of you
A hundred wishes couldn’t say
I don’t want to

And as we sit here alone
Looking for a reason to go on
It’s so clear that all we have now
Are our thoughts of yesterday

La La La La…

It’s so clear that all we have now
Are thoughts of yesterday

Song of the Week – 9-30-08 – Good Time by The Brazilian Girls

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

Brazilian Girls widget by 6L & AC

This week’s song presents a simple concept: having a good time, all the time. It’s probably what most people ultimately want but sometimes we think we need to have, be or do something to accomplish it. Other times, we’re just stuck in a cycle of repeating past drama. I’ve been guilty of both. But for now I’m gonna let that go and see if I can have a good time all the time despite it all.

Derby Dolls in the L.A. Times

Friday, June 13th, 2008

Over the past few months, I’ve I told you a few times that you should go to a Derby Doll bout….while you still can. Today the Derby Dolls are in the L.A. Times, tomorrow, who knows. If I were you, I’d get tickets now, so you can have the distinction of being one of the lucky ones who got to see it live, before it got all “commercial”. (I’m sorta joking on the commercial part but…you never know).

Remember, the place only holds 1,700 people and they sell out quicker and quicker each time. This next event is a two-day tournament held June 28 and 29, come one or both days. Teams in the tournament include LA Derby Dolls, TXRD Lonestar Rollergirls, San Diego Derby Dolls and Team Awesome. Doors open at 3:30 on Saturday and 4:30 on Sunday. In addition to the roller derby action you will also see cool bands and you can buy some unique items in the Vendor Village. There are two sets of prices: VIP and General Admission. The difference is, with VIP you get to sit down in the bleachers the entire game, with General Admission you get to stand amongst a crowd of rabid (but cool) roller derby fans.

Here’s the details:
VIP
Single day pass: $60
Two day pass: $100

General Admission
Single day pass: $30
Two day pass: $50

You must bring your ID or you won’t get in the door. Parking is $10 in the lots but sometimes you can find street parking. You must be 21 and over to attend and there is plenty of beer and wine to drink as well as snacks and usually a catering truck with healthy food.

Address: 1910 W. Temple St., L.A., CA 90026.

I usually work the guest list so if you come, say hi!
