How do you make your hustle? In this recession are any means of making an income off limits? Today on The Sheri and Erin Show we had three guests: Manaj, a former male exotic dancer, Linda Saito, singer/songwriter and Chad Chronkite, the good samaratin who found the wallet of one of baseball’s wealthiest agents,
Scott Boras.
The story begins on a Southern California afternoon when Chad Chronkite spots a wallet and a Blackberry in the middle of Pacific Coast Highway in Long Beach. He stopped his truck, went into the middle of the street and retrieved the wallet and Blackberry. He looked through the contents of the wallet and found the passport, ID and credit cards that belonged to Scott Boras. He also found $2,300 cash.
There was never a doubt in Chronkite's mind as to what he would do. He went the the Internet to try and figure out how to contact Boras. It was then that he realized he was holding the wallet of a multi-millionaire baseball tycoon. Without hesitation, he contacted Boras to make arrangements for him to get his wallet back, with all contents intact.
Along the way, he told a few friends the story. One of those friends was Michael Zampelli, the site administrator for a popular hockey-fan website,
letsgokings.com. Zampelli posted Chad's story on his site which created a buzz and got the attention of Press Telegram sports writer Doug Krikorian. The story was featured on the front page of the sports section Friday, August 20, it was also
published on the web. A day later, Matt Coker blogged about it at
OCWeekly.com.
Today, Sheri and Erin interviewed Chad Chronkite and he confirmed he was never offered a financial reward for his good deed. The surprising part of the story is, he didn't want one. He just wanted to do the right thing. To hear the story in Chad Chronkite's own words,
check out today's episode of The Sheri and Erin Show.
You'll also hear from Manaj, a former male exotic dancer who is making a tell-all movie about the exotic dance industry and
Linda Saito, a singer/songwriter extraordinaire who has appeared on stage with the inimitable Miles Davis and Ernie Washington (pianist for Billie Holiday).
