Galvanized Facebook Friday 12-31-10 – Scott Walker and Scouring the Digital Underground

Friday, December 31st, 2010
When I'm at my computer surfing the web, I feel like I'm Captain James T. Kirk at the control panels of the Starship Enterprise.  I speed past information at warp speed but some of it is worth looking at more than once.  When that happens, I generally swipe the link, or click on "like" so I can at least be reminded of the information and go back to it later if possible. Tomorrow is the first day of 2011 and I've been working in the background diligently for a re-launch and restructuring of my blog.  One of the things I want to do is savor and share the top highlights from my Facebook wall so I can remember them for longer than 10 seconds.  I'm so excited about this new feature that I decided to start today, even though it's not officially 2011 yet. Happy New Year and if you're ready to galvanize your life, I invite you to join me. Subscribe or comment on this blog to get involved. Here's the line up I have to keep you galvanized in 2011: M – Master Mind Monday T – Musical Tuesday W – Galvanize Your Mind Wednesday Th – Galvanize Your Body Thursday F – Fun and Fabulous Friday Now, going back to Facebook Friday. One of the highlights of my week was watching Scott Walker: 30 Century Man. I didn't even know who he was until I saw the movie on Netflix. This is one deep movie about a serious artist. After checking out the movie, I decided to go to iTunes and browse the Scott Walker selection. I haven't purchased anything yet but I think I will be adding Scott Walker to my collection very soon. Let me know if you have any Scott Walker recommendations. On Sunday I "attended" AgapeLive, did you know they have streaming services? Pretty cool. Here's a link. While I was preparing for the Galvanized Music Countdown it was like a long walk down memory lane and I loved hearing some of the old songs. I moved some of my content from past blogs to this location. I came across photos from the Marilyn Monroe Exhibit on the Queen Mary and my trip to Phyllis Diller's mansion. Good memories. I'm looking forward to 52 Fun and Fabulous Friday's in 2011 and FYI, I will be posting events on Friday's and I'm especially interested in promoting roller derby and music so send me your stuff if you want to be listed. Happy New Year.

Alyse Leads a Power-Packed Postpunky Band Named EULA

Sunday, October 17th, 2010
If you've ever rocked out to the sounds of Sonic Youth, Bow Wow Wow, Vice Squad or Plasmatics, you're bound to dig the sounds of EULA. Lead by female vocalist Alyse Lamb (vocals, guitar, keys); Jeff Maleri (bass, vocals); Nate Rose (drums, vocals). One of my favorite quotes about EULA is from Left Hip Magazine: "Totally classic art-school, indie pop, takes me back to the salad days of DIY zines when music was fun." I say Yes to that. Ditto to how I feel about EULA. Another great quote about EULA comes from Gimme Tinnitus, "I can summarize for you. Indie rock filled with postpunky goodness." EULA has just released a new demo and I'll admit, after years of punk-rock fandom in the 80's and 90's, I'm still a sucker for a hand-drawn, xeroxed flier and a CD "label" designed with a little help from a Sharpie. And I'll also admit, I'm still a sucker for finding out about something cool WAY before hoards of other people do. The only thing that's changed is that thanks to the Internet I can share it real time and have "proof" of my findings...plus a few extra SEO points. If you want to find out about something very cool WAY before hoards of other people do, get over to their MySpace page and listen to their demo or check out some of their music on iTunes. This band has what it takes to make it. I hope I'll get a chance to see them live before they explode. Fight Riff by EULA was my song of the week on March 24, 2009, click here to check out the Fight Riff video. Go here for a list of all their available music EULA blog EULA on Twitter --------------- Start a Master Mind Group.comWhen you think about it, every musical act you know of is using the Master Mind principle whether they realize it or not. They are joining together as a team with a combined vision. You can use the same principle and make some truly rockin' things happen in your life. Do you have a creative project you want to complete? Do you want to find a purpose for your life? If so, I invite you to come over to my brand new page called Start a Master Mind Group.com. I'm offering 4 freebies to get you started so you can get a sense of what the Master Mind is all about. There's nothing cool about holding back.

Song of the Week – 9-21-10 – A Triple-Header for the Delay by Rinkrat

Friday, September 24th, 2010
This week has been atypical in many ways. The song of the week, by Michael Zampelli is usually published on Tuesday's. It's three days late. To make up for it, there are three songs this week and they tell a story of what's been going on for the past seven days. It's been life-changing to say the least. Watch the video for each song one after another and see what kind of an effect it has on you.
