“Tongue ‘N’ Cheek”, New Release by Dizzee Rascal Drops the Beats
Thursday, September 24th, 2009
The new Tongue 'N' Cheek LP by Dizzee Rascal blends old school hip hop and trip hop influences and lays them on top of boomin' drum and bass beats.
Vapors of Prince and Bob Marley pass by now and again along with memories of 70's funkmasters.
This is a release for fun-loving party people who like to live life with a heavy pulse.
Dizzee Rascal released the Tongue "N" Cheek LP on September 21 in the UK, It is not currently available on iTunes so I'm not sure if it's available in the US but CDNow.com seems to have some in stock.
The 11 track release has a strong flavor of Basement Jaxx mixed with Groove Armada. If you liked Wild Cherry, KC and the Sunshine Band or Groove is in the Heart by Dee Lite, you should like this just fine.
Track list includes:
1. Bonkers (Produced by Armand Van Helden)
2. Road Rage (Produced by Aaron Lacrate and Samir)
3. Dance Wiv Me (Produced by Calvin Harris and Cage)
4. Freaky Freaky (Produced by Cage)
5. Can't Tek No More (Produced by Shy FX)

‘Get off the Treadmill Feeling Pumped Up’ Playlist
Sunday, August 30th, 2009
I've discovered that if I want to make exercise a healthy habit, it must be fun. One of the ways I fun it up is to listen to music that rocks my body and soul. This is the iPod playlist I enjoyed tonight, on my treadmill, rockin' to the beat. Warning, if you're over 40 or easily disturbed by loud music with a solid beat, click away from this page while you can. If you're under 40 or have a young mind, click away and get ready to rock! (All links go to iTunes).
Speaking of fun, here's a video of someone who hasn't quite mastered the art of dancing on the treadmill at high speeds. Watch his flip flops go flyin' at the end. Then, once you're done laughing, get on the treadmill and have fun. Stay safe!

Song of the Week – 8-25-09 – Beastie Boys, P. Diddy and Q-tip at Les Legends Du Hip Hop on MTV
Tuesday, August 25th, 2009
This week's 'song' is a medley of Beastie Boys tunes featuring guest appearances from P. Diddy and Q-Tip. On July 20 the Beastie Boys released a video on YouTube announcing that they would need to delay their tour and the release of their new record (Hot Sauce Committee Part 1) because Adam "MCA" Yauch discovered that he had a form of cancer in his parotid gland and needed surgery. Here's to well wishes for a complete and speedy recovery.
