Roller Derby Lessons: Jump Over Obstacles and Embrace Exhilaration

One night in roller derby practice, I had to jump over the back seat of a Chevy Corvair on roller skates. The prospect of it terrified me but the end result of taking a risk and having success was life-transforming. In this 6 minute video taped at Agape Toastmasters, I talk about how jumping over that car seat, even though I was initially convinced I couldn't, was proof to me that my mind doesn't always tell the truth and maybe I shouldn't take it so seriously. When I hear the words "I can't" in my mind, I ignore it. If you want less fear and more joy, check it out. --------------------------------------------------------------- For step-by-step guidance to overcome failure mentality or fear of failure, purchase From Sabotage to Success.

Cos I was lost and couldn't find a way... and now I look forward to every day....(welcome to my sunny day)... Block don't stop always stayed hot... No matter how the seasons got.. I still remember when they took me away.... Kept it on lock then I got caught then I realized that I had to stop... Then I took the time to explore a better way... Searched high and low, so close, yet so far to go... I just know, there's a sunny day Who'd ever thought that I would see this day.... Where I would see my ghetto life fade away... Cos I was lost and couldn't find a way... And now I look forward to every day.... Welcome to my sunny day... my sunny day... everyday.... a better day... Welcome to my sunny day... my sunny day.... every day... a better day... welcome to my sunny day... Apple iTunes akon_happy_dayBeen a long day... On my way to my holy place to pray...
