Song of the Week – 9-1-09 – The Uprising by Muse

Tuesday, September 1st, 2009
Watch/Listen on YouTube. Will you be victorious or will the paranoia pull you in? Lyrics for Uprising by Muse The paranoia is in bloom, the PR The transmissions will resume They'll try to push drugs Keep us all dumbed down and hope that We will never see the truth around Another promise, another scene, another A package not to keep us trapped in greed With all the green belts wrapped around our minds And endless red tape to keep the truth confined They will not force us They will stop degrading us They will not control us We will be victorious Interchanging mind control Come let the revolution take it's toll if you could Flick the switch and open your third eye, you'd see that We should never be afraid to die Rise up and take the power back, it's time that The fat cats had a heart attack, you know that Their time is coming to an end We have to unify and watch our flag ascend They will not force us They will stop degrading us They will not control us We will be victorious They will not force us They will stop degrading us They will not control us We will be victorious itunes_iconBuy The Uprising by Muse on iTunes The song of the week is brought to you by Michael Zampelli, former owner of Southern California punk rock icon, Zed Records. Purchase #1 after Getting a $100 iTunes Gift Card

Saturday, December 27th, 2008
I got 2 $50 iTunes gift certificates for Christmas. It didn't take me long to make my first purchase. I bought the eyedollartree album by Blood of Abraham. I was inspired to listen to them because I like their song 99 Cent Lighter (featuring WILL.i.am of the black eyed peas) which I own on 12" vinyl. I went to iTunes and checked out some of their other songs and I was impressed. I bought the entire album. It's old-school underground hip hop with stories from the streets. A slight "hey wake up", unity, political slant to the whole thing. Great production. The first video is kinda fun and silly on the exterior but the lyrics are deep. The second video is a little bit more intense and omnious. Check it out. Apple iTunes
