In this show we discussed how some people cut themselves off from creativity at a young age for a variety of reasons. Sometimes we are distanced from our creativity because of fear of rejection and disapproval or we learn to deny our creativity and authenticity because we have been bullied by others. Erin shares a story about her son and how he uses his imagination during play. We discussed the role of creativity in innovation and the recent interview on OWN with Oprah and Lady Gaga and how our cultural contempt for creativity has damaged many aspects of our lives from family life to government. We discussed how againstness and "right/wrong reality" create problems on a personal, professional and global level and how bullies suffer just as much as the people they bully. We discussed how sometimes we are our biggest bullies and the bullying we do to ourselves can often end up hurting others when we lash out. We discussed how living in the box mentally keeps you and your loved ones in prison and how to live free by accepting others as they are. Take Time To Do What You Love

Some of us overeat to fill a void or because we feel bored or unfulfilled in life. For your own mental, emotional and physical health, take time to do something you're passionate about, even if it's only a few hours a week. The increased energy and enthusiasm you'll experience will affect other areas of your life. You might find this increased energy helps you forget about food. Perhaps your enthusiasm will motivate you to exercise and eat right. If you take time to do what you love, it can't help but impact your life in a positive way. Some of us have been "blah" or downtrodden for so long that we don't even know what we're passionate about or we can't remember the last time we felt passionate. I Want Roller Derby on My OWN T.V. Show

I submitted an audition to Oprah on Sunday. I'm asking you to vote for me to get my OWN T.V. talk show. In my audition, I tell Oprah I want to talk to roller derby girls. And I mean it. It's a fast growing sport that empowers women and it is fun to watch. In the 70's, everyone watched it and loved it. Let's get it back on T.V. I want a show thats a mix between Soul Train and old school Oprah. You know, when she used to have real-life, everyday people on and they'd tell amazing stories and experience transformation before your eyes.

Roller Derby Lessons: Jump Over Obstacles and Embrace Exhilaration

One night in roller derby practice, I had to jump over the back seat of a Chevy Corvair on roller skates. The prospect of it terrified me but the end result of taking a risk and having success was life-transforming.
