I'm sure very few people would categorize the movie Nightmare on Elm Street as inspiring or mind expanding. But there is a concept that I learned in that movie that helps me to "wake up" to my power when I need a reminder.
If you've seen it, maybe you'll remember this about the movie. Nancy is constantly trying to stay awake so she could avoid Freddy Krueger. She did everything she could but ultimately, she eventually dozed off to sleep against her will. She was powerless.
Nancy finally owns her power when in the midst of dreaming, she stops running away from Freddy and instead turns around sharply on her heels and reminds him "I created you. You are nothing without me." Freddy then begins to disintegrate right before her eyes. He falls into tiny monochrome bits at her feet and disappears.
The truth is, you can find inspiration everywhere, depending on your perception and your fears can disappear in the wink of an eye when you're ready to stand in your power and let them go. Nightmare on Elm Street Reminds Me, “Fear is an Illusion”
