“What Do You Mean by Master Minding?”

Start a Master Mind Group.comI recently received a question about Master Minding in my e-mail inbox. It was from someone who watched the video over at startamastermindgroup.com. I want to answer the question in a public forum just in case other people also have the same question. Here's what she wrote:
Hi Sheri Thanks for the wonderful video clip which I found very inspiring. Can you please explain what you mean by master minding? Regards S.W. - U.K.
Dear S., What I mean by Master Minding in short terms is that we are all influenced by the people around us, we are all tapped into a Master Mind. Many of us are influenced passively and unconsciously. We simply take cues from the people in our environment and our life is shaped accordingly. Having a Master Mind group means choosing to use the power of influence constructively and purposely. A Master Mind group meets with a specific mission and purpose in mind and as a result of putting energy, focus and attention on that mission, it tends to come true. This principle can work for anyone, anytime and for anything. Many people became aware of the concept of Master Minding because of the book Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill and though the book talks about the power of the Master Mind principle and/or tapping into a Higher Mind, the book does not tell you how to start and run a Master Mind group. That's why I decided to develop a Master Mind training kit. You can get it at startamastermindgroup.com I hope that answers your question. If you have a question or comment about Master Minding, please post it below.

Small Groups Can Change the World

Can a Master Mind group change the world? That's one of the questions that popped into my mind when I saw this quote:
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." - Margaret Meade
One thing I know for sure is that being in a Master Mind group has changed MY life and the lives of my Master Mind partners. I started my first Master Mind group in 1991 and at the time I was a waitress, a full-time student at Long Beach City College and I smoked a pack of cigarettes a day. My goals were to quit smoking, to finish my education and to do work that was meaningful and prosperous. I accomplished all of that and more. Start a Master Mind Group.comI'm currently in a Master Mind group called The Savvy Soul Sisters and it is changing my life even at this very moment. In fact, I'm so jazzed on all the benefits I've received from Master Minding that I decided to create a Master Mind training kit to share with others. The training kit will provide you with the structure for your Master Mind group. Whatever you want to focus on or make come true, it will be easier to do with the help of concentrated focus and group support.

Master Mind Tips: Start Where You Are, Learn From Each Other

As a Master Mind member, you learn to start where you are and to do things daily to move in the direction you desire. You don't have to have any special degrees, you simply make a conscious effort to reach for the things you want versus waiting for something on the outside to change. The way we format our Master Mind group is that we start by sharing successes, then we share goals. Sometimes we learn from each other about the best way to describe our goal. The way one person communicates it helps it become more clear in our own mind. Our group has helped us to build friendships and we do things with each other outside the group such as support art openings and book signings or help each other practice for a speech. Sometimes the only supportive people in my life were Master Mind partners. When I told people my goals, they would say "that's not possible". Many people live from fear, they tell you, "you can't do it" and if that's all you hear, you believe it. But Master Minding can help you create the support group you need. If you have people who believe in you or at the very least don't blindly criticize you, it's amazing how much you can do. Click here to listen to the audio if you don't see the player below. Master Mind Group Dynamics and Personal Growth

Groups can grow together or grow apart. It just depends on the members of the group and timing. It seems like everyone grows in some way as a result of being in a Master Mind group but sometimes the group has to disband because of schedules or other conflicts such as people moving away or going back to college. Sometimes the learning in the group occurs when a member irritates you. If someone is getting on your nerves, stay in the group for a while and use it as a learning experience. If you just keep running, you'll only encounter the same personality type again in another group down the road. These members are a mirror to confront you about things you are keeping hidden from yourself. Master Mind partners can push your buttons in unique ways. A Master Mind group is an intimate environment. We let down our walls and we let people into our lives. Sometimes our family or intimate partners don't know the things we tell our Master Mind partners. The intimacy and "realness" of the group can be overwhelming if you're not used to it. Some people just take off because they can't handle it. I think it's worth it to stay persistent and get strong. Click here to listen to the audio if you don't see the player below. Happy Birthday Girlfriends – and Tina Tessina

If birthdays are about doing exactly what you want to do then Tina Tessina and I are both following the rules (for a change). I turned 45 in November and I did several of my favorite things. One of them is performance art in my living room. See photos above. To catch the hula hooping in action, with the sounds of Naked Raygun, Go to YouTube. Tina Tessina had a birthday this month and her party is on Saturday..Tomorrow! I'm one of the lucky people who gets to be there. Happy Birthday Tina! Tina holds her birthday party at Vintage Tea Leaf on Broadway in Long Beach where she's somewhat of a regular. She loves tea, she loves Vintage Tea Leaf and we all love her birthday parties and the opportunity to be girls and play dress up and sip tea. Here's a video from last year. I hope it inspires you to do something light, fun, playful and caring with good people.
