I have believed for many years that music can be a powerful way to unite people. I've been to over 1,000 live music shows and there's something magical that happens when you get a crowd of people together to listen and dance to live music.

I continue to find myself drawn to music as a form of stress relief, creativity and self-expression. This week I made a mix of songs that I'll call "Settling the Debt" Celebration Mix. Buy Spiriva Without Prescription, If you want to have fun, blow off steam or listen to tunes that will inspire you while you workout, check out this mix. The Story Behind Peace One Day – Celebrate on September 21

Jeremy Gilley is an independent documentary filmmaker and the founder and chairman of Peace One Day. Frustrated by the amount of violence he witnessed in the world, Gilley decided to make a film about peace. It was then that he realized there was no day dedicated to peace and he set out to create one. Gilley traveled with world and met with political leaders to discuss the idea of a world peace day with a fixed calendar date of September 21st. Peace One Day was officially launched at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in 1999. On September 7, 2001 a global cease-fire was unanimously adopted in the General Assembly of the United Nations in New York establishing the United Nations International Day of Peace as an annual day of global ceasefire and non-violence. This would be a day where residents of war-torn countries could gain access to vaccinations and food distribution that was impossible during a state of war. Last year an estimated 100 million people participated in Peace Day. 1.4 million people were vaccinated in Afghanistan. This year's goal is 1.8 million vaccinations. Peace day has been adopted by every member state of the United Nations. It is supported by Angelina Golie, Paul McCartney, Dali Lama, Annie Lennox, Kate Nash, David Bentley, Lenny Kravitz, Chris Martin of Coldplay, James Morrison, Ben and Jerry, Christian Slater, Peter Gabriel, Bryan Adams, John Legend, Nobel Peace Laureate Shimon Peres, Mary Robinson, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan at UN Headquarters and more. You have a few days to plan a way to get behind Peace Day and help it grow. My goal is to do something to create peace in my world and to give my students extra credit for participating in Peace Day and writing about it. What will you do to make peace on September 21? Log your commitment on their website. Peace.

If the lyrics of the song are any indication, it seems that even with all this big time fame they still have the same loving, peaceful hearts. So refreshing. itunes_icon Buy One Tribe on iTunes The song of the week is brought to you by Michael Zampelli, former owner of Southern California punk rock icon, Zed Records.
