War Dance is Good for Warrior Workouts and Your Next Victory

Wednesday, November 24th, 2010
I am a warrior in training. This includes workouts with Jaiya Figueras of Your Next Victory on the Bluff at Long Beach. What better way to mentally train for warrior status than to rock out to this tune and let it sink into your bones. I try to record a lot of movement in this video because it is symbolic of how the music moves me and the energy that bounces around inside of me when I hear it. If you'd like to see me moving instead of the record cover, you can check out my latest birthday video where my husband captures me hula hooping, jumping on the trampoline and lip-synching to punk rock. My outfit is the equivalent of "drag queen" style with inspiration from Phyllis Diller, Lily Tomlin and Joan Rivers. Check it out on YouTube>>> Recently I have joined forces with Jaiya Figueras of Your Next Victory. In addition to our warrior workouts on the bluff in Long Beach, we have recorded some video about how trauma and exercise are related. I wrote a blog about it titled Why do people break down and cry when they exercise? I think it will be a real eye-opener for some people who just think they're "lazy" because they can't seem to ever get motivated to exercise. What motivates me is music. Here's a link to a few of my workout playlists. Enjoy and dare to activate your inner-warrior.
Start a Master Mind Group.comWhen you think about it, every musical act you know of is using the Master Mind principle whether they realize it or not. They are joining together as a team with a combined vision. You can use the same principle and make some truly rockin' things happen in your life. Do you have a creative project you want to complete? Do you want to find a purpose for your life? If so, I invite you to come over to my brand new page called Start a Master Mind Group.com. Galvanize Your Mind Now – Pilot on You Tube

Sunday, January 3rd, 2010
First there was a Flip Video camera, given to someone like me who loves gadgets, has an idea a minute and some time off for the holidays. Second there is the resulting video. In less than two minutes I will list seven things that Galvanize My Mind. (Maybe they'll galvanize your mind too): 1. Strolling the streets of Bluff Park with my iPod 2. Going to the farmer's market 3. Snuggling with my cat 4. Working out on the bluff with Your Next Victory 5. Visualizing my ideal 2010 and beyond 6. Reading good Tweets 7. Watching Hello Ross on YouTube This and more captured in my "not quite 2 minute" video. If you can't see the video here, watch it on You Tube. You'll see me doing push-ups at the beach with a pink wig on and you'll meet Fenix, my persian tabby cat. One of my favorite clips is "Boys on Bikes." I was out strolling the sidewalks of Bluff Park in Long Beach with my Flip Video in hand and a group of about 10 young men on skateboards and bicycles rode by, it was pretty exciting. Some of us screamed in joy. Including me. It's on video. itunes_iconI practiced with using audio clips in the video. I sampled Galvanize by the Chemical Brothers, and Express Yourself By The Watts 103rd St. Rhythm Band. Songs like these and more can be found on the latest "Songs to Galvanize Your Mind" PDF. Free to all new blog subscribers today. Get it here. At the end of this video I mention a Create the Life You Want free hypnosis MP3 download. You can get it at icreathabits.com Dare to Galvanize Your Mind Today.

Your Next Victory – Work Hard and Have Fun

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008
Your Next Victory at a partyThis weekend I went to a fun party at Shaun and Mary's house in Long Beach. I originally met Shaun during our beach workouts with Jaiya in the Bluff Park area of Long Beach. His home was absolutely beautiful. All the people in this photo are part of the Your Next Victory team. We work out HARD but we also have fun. Earlier this week we met at May's restaurant for a gathering. May is also one of the people we workout with. You can see her in the picture below. Jaiya is really developing a team atmosphere. Not only do we workout in groups, but by adding these social occassions to the mix, we also feel more accountable and connected with one another. (L to R - (back row) Jaiya Figueras, Lindsay Hudgins (front row) Sandra Lepore, Me, Darian Jones, Jen Wescott) What I love about Jaiya is that he never emphasizes or focuses on weight or looks as a determinant of fitness. Instead, he measures our strength and our improvement. We just had a fitness test, I ran faster with less struggle and could do more push ups and sit ups. I am truly starting to feel good in my body and all of my clothes fit more comfortably and I haven't lost any weight. That's right. I have not lost a pound. But I feel sexy in my body again. I feel like I have my body back and that feels fabulous. Jaiya tells us about nutrition and body mechanics but he doesn't emphasize fat or calories, instead he shows us why its important to have certain foods at certain times and to keep the body fueled at all times. In fact, he encourages us to eat every 3 hours! The team is educated, dedicated and talented. Jaiya used to play college football at Oregon State University, Jen Wescott ranked second in the United States in trampoline when she was 17. Another team member, Sage Crum studied to be an M.D. but was discontent with the pharmaceutical crazed medical industry and decided to use his talents more constructively. I am also a team member. I offer hypnosis sessions to all Your Next Victory team members at a discount.  Jaiya says our work together has increased his business. I feel very proud to be in association with such great people. Here's a picture with even more Your Next Victory members: Your Next Victory Jaiya offers free workouts on Saturday's at the bluff near the end of Redondo Ave. in Long Beach. You should come check it out.
