Staedler and Waldorf’s ‘No Way Home’ Album – Uniquely Fiery Re-Launch for October 2010

In a recent e-mail from Aardvark Records I read the words: "we feel that our artist 'Staedler and Waldorf's' groundbreaking, obscure and unique sound, paired with their 'out there' and artistic image, would be well suited to a feature on your site." Sometimes people write things like this and they are dead wrong...their style is not a match for my site. But this time, the match is there and it ignited a spark that inspired this blog post. Staedler and Waldorf is a beautiful mixture of sounds: sometimes poppy, sometimes powerfully Drum and Bass, sometimes Electronica. A thread of jungle sounds and classic beats runs through the tracks, all composed and fine-tuned by Steve Jones and Paul Smith. Female vocalist, Lacey Chaiff leads the trio. If you like a dance club sound from the UK or you've ever enjoyed tunes from Luscious Jackson, Meat Beat Manifesto or Republica, you'll like the heavy-hitting bass with a "gotta dance" sound. Great for rocking out and invigorating your mind and body. DJ ZYLEM (UK) has this to say about Staedler and Waldorf: "Slick breakbeat / jungle production matched with classy female vocals, this will surely be a hit with D&B dj's and clubbers across the land." Staedler and Waldorf originally released “Mode in Mind” in early June 2008, accompanied by a promo video (see below or on YouTube). The time has come for Aardvark Records to re-launch the "No Way Home" album by Staedler and Waldorf. Maybe they were ahead of their time when they originally released in 2008. Someone believes that it's time for this music to be heard. If you're ready to experience it now, you can click on the player below, or go here. “No Way Home” features 13 tracks that don't stagnate or merge into one sound. It's a journey to please from start to finish. With Staedler & Waldorf it’s not about being cool. It’s about knowing what you want to do – and then doing it. “No Way Home” will be re-released on October 30, 2010. Staedler Buy music from Staedler & Waldorf on iTunes today. Naked Raygun Live – There’s Nothing Else Like It

Oh my god I loved seeing Naked Raygun live. In a sense I was spoiled because L.A. crowds never caught on to the power of this awesome Chicago sound. So, when I saw them I was as close to the stage as possible with no more than 50 people in the club. But every damn one of them was whipped into a frenzy by the time the night was over. You can't stand still or keep quiet at a Naked Raygun show. Song of the Week – 5-4-10 – I Am Not a Robot by Marina and the Diamonds

I Am Not a Robot by Marina and the Diamonds Lyrics You've been acting awful tough lately Smoking a lot of cigarettes lately But inside, you're just a little baby It's okay to say you've got a weak spot You don't always have to be on top Better to be hated than love, love, loved for what you're not You're vulnerable, you're vulnerable You are not a robot You're loveable, so loveable But you're just troubled Guess what? I'm not a robot, a robot Guess what? I'm not a robot, a robot You've been hanging with the unloved kids Who you never really liked and you never trusted But you are so magnetic, you pick up all the pins Never committing to anything You don't pick up the phone when it ring, ring, rings Don't be so pathetic, just open up and sing I'm vulnerable, I'm vulnerable I am not a robot You're loveable, so loveable But you're just troubled Guess what? I'm not a robot, a robot Guess what? I'm not a robot, a robot Can you teach me how to feel real? Can you turn my power on? Well, let the drum beat drop Guess what? I'm not a robot Guess what? I'm not a robot Guess what? I'm not a robot, a robot Guess what? I'm not a robot, a robot Guess what? I'm not a robot, a robot Guess what?
